Seems like this should be an FAQ although I did search for it first and got no real hits. I did not find any forum that seemed like a good fit. Here's my question: On desktop OSs (Linux, Mac OS and Windows) I can easily set up any number of alternate keyboard layouts for different languages and scripts. Specifically, I can switch to a Macedonian cyrillic keyboard layout independent of the application (e.g. E-mail or web form) and switch again in the middle of a document. Doesn't Android offer any way to do this? I have a G-1 with 1.6. Might I gain this capability by upgrading to a new version (which for me would imply a newer phone)?
