Help Keyboard problems

I cannot change to a different keyboard. I can go into settings and check a different downloaded keyboard such as Swype, but when I need to type I only get the standard keyboard.

Have you tried this method:
1) Open your app that you want to type in and bring up the typing input screen with the keyboard on it.
2) Pull down on your notification bar and you should see "Select Input Method" followed by which keyboard you are currently using.
3) Tap on that notification
4) Tap the keyboard that you want to change to
5) Go back to the app that you want to type in and the new keyboard choice should now be in effect.
