Keyboard selection won't stick

This only started after the 4.1.2 update, so maybe it's an Android issue, but maybe not:

I have the Thumb Keyboard installed and want to use it permanently. I can go into the Language and Input settings and set it as the "Default". This works, but if I shut the phone off and then restart it, it always goes back to the Samsung Keyboard.

This gets annoying after a while, especially since the Thumb Kb is so much better. Any solutions?

This is a "Jelly Bean" bug and is a known issue.

The best you can do is hope for another update in the future.
