hey guys, i just got this computer desk a week ago and i love it, but i have a bad habit of not tightening screws in too tight because i'm scared ill break something and the screw was in kinda loose also i leaned on the tray to hard and it broke the screw right out....what can you suggest to fix it? can i just get some electrical tape and tape it down? i tried using some super glue, that kinda made things worse lol.

Electrical tape probably won't work as it looks like its woodpecker oatmeal (particle board) so it will just keep chipping away. If you can get some gorilla clue and pack the hole with that and some sawdust (essentially replacing the material pulled out) and then redrill the hole for the screw.

Alternately, remove the entire rail and drill a new hole in the rail far enough away from the damaged area and then trill a new tap hole in the wood behind it.

What he said.. Might be better overall to move both rails and drill new holes about 1" - 1.5" above or below (for both rails) so that way the rails and tray are squared & level for proper function. "Liquid Nail" or caulking may work well (thin application between length of rail & wood) too, but you'll still need your screws. When that dries it'll reduce tension on the screws by having more contact spread down the rail instead of just the screws = stronger support

thanks for the replies guys :) I ended up just filling the wooden hole with super glue, then pressing the screw through the other side, and it spread like thermal paste lol. then i just sat by the computer desk and kept pressing the screw in with my finger nail for about 10 mins or so, then left it to try for a couple hours - and it seems to have done it! keyboard tray feels nice and stable now :) now to clean all the wood dust lol...yeah sucks that its made out of particle board, but as far as computer desks go, i love it! has a nice cubby on the right side at the bottom and on the top right side has a little elevated area you place your rig and there's an elevated area on top of that where i put my right speaker and my gaming headset xD

A carpenters trick would have been to fill the screw hole with elmers glue and then break off toothpicks or something similar stuffing the screw hole with wood. Let that set up and then run your screw in again. It looks like your superglue fix worked though. Good job.
