Keyboard wont type

I can stand all the pains of the Droid Eris, But the keyboard issue I've been having is on top of the list. The keyboard randomly stops working. I go to respond to a txt, or search the internet..And the keyboard shows the flashing line as if to type, But it wont type. I will randomly enter letters and the spell check box still pops up. I restart it, or remove the battery but once i turn it back on and try typing again and still same issue. Then 5min later it works. Its random. Annoying. And Ideas what could cause it? or fix it?

I have this same problem with 2.1v1 leak.

do either of you run a task killer? Sounds to me like the keyboard is getting killed inadvertently.

how about what you do have....apps and such, 1.5 or 2.1? hard to diagnose when there is so many things it could be. running the stock keyboard? if not which one. To be honest if your on 1.5, then I probably can't help you. I haven't been on it in so long ....

Very true. I use the stock keyboard. Im going to try a different keyboard today and see if I still get the issue. As for apps, I posted the link.

Just had the same issue using Better Keyboard.

have you gone thru and checked all your keyboard settings? Check that first, because what might happen next can get painful.
