I'm sure it can be disabled. You can always installed another keyboard on your Android device. I'm not sure of what device you have, but if it your device works like every other Android device - then after installing the new keyboard, you go to Settings>Language & keyboards and put a check inside the box of the installed keyboard. To use the keyboard -- long press inside any text field, then tap on Input method and choose the desired keyboard.

EDIT: WHen you install this keyboard or any other one you may get a message about the keyboard and how it might collect sensitive data, but don't worry about this one it's totally safe or you could try Swifty X keyboard in the google play store as well.
