Keyboards (Gingerbread, Swiftkey, Smart Keyboard Pro) inserting periods between single spaces.

Using a Motorola Atrix.

I'm currently using the Gingerbread Keyboard that's available on the market.

The problem is, the keyboard is almost perfect for my needs except the fact that it sometimes randomly adds a period inbetween SINGLE spaces (between words).

This problem seems to appear in most keyboards that I use too. I doubt it's my typing, because anyone that uses my phone runs into it as well.

Example:

"This is a.test.message.to. Demonstrate"

It's a real pain in the ass.

Anyone have a fix?

Mine only does it if I hit space button twice,I have it set up to do this.

My standard keyboard does this on my Inspire. Drives me up the wall. I know why, though, because the space bar is too short, and the period is right next to it. My right thumb hits the period instead. I need a new keyboard. Opinions??

The Gingerbread keyboard has an option to remove the period key, so I removed it.

Still having the same problem :/, it's with pretty much any keyboard.

Are you using the paid version from the Marketplace?

It would fall under Advanced Settings as "Show period key" with a little checkbox next to it.

I would think so. The upgrade gives you a few themes, and it gave me the option to adjust the key height to make them a little bigger, which is pretty useful for bigger hands.
