Help Keypad not accessible during calls on my HTC

[Android Question]

Have a cricket HTC phone and for some reason when I make or receive calls a gray screen pops up

and theres a silhouette and a red border by end call. When I tried to use my keypad during a call

it wont come up. I see half of the silhouette and a corner of the keypad . How can I get this

back to normal where I can accessmy keypad during calls and have that silhoettegone
