Help Keystroke lag

Mark_TW1

No problems until my Nexus 5 ran out of power overnight. The next day I found typing was really sluggish. I deleted Swiftkey and found the Google keyboard was much quicker. However, typing in the device PIN number, using the dialler and using an in-app keyboard are still terrible. A factory reset hasn't solved it either. Could this be a system issue? Is something logging the keystrokes? Anyone have an idea? Running 5.1.1, unrooted.

Not sure if this is a factor for you or not, but I always take off the "pop up animation" feature for any keyboard as it tends to make them to lag.

I'd have suggested a system cache wipe but I think (?) a factory reset does that anyway....
What I didn't know after a factory reset is that the back-up facility automatically puts all your apps back on the device. So the 'problem' may have been inadvertently reinstalled.

However, I've seen some interesting posts about peoples' devices beginning to type progressively slower after an upgrade. It could be that my recent upgrade to 5.1.1 is behind this. The timescale kind of figures.
