Help KIES 2 problem

I had been able to connect to Kies through an older version. In the blind hope I would have access to the Froyo update, I updated Kies to the latest version. As soon as I did I was no longer able to get the phone to connect.

I have tried every solution I could find, the tool for searching for 16 character filenames which used to do the trick no longer solves the connection problem and so I eventually decided to Install Kies 2 instead. I am still not able to connect though :(

I am installing .Net 4.0, ye never know, it might work.
Will let you know if it works.

Any other ideas?
 
I have a feeling there's some method/procedure to config the phone to get Kies to see it and enable the full functionality of the Kies program to work as it should.

I have a strong feeling it's a phone config job rather than the Kies install...
 
I've just thought of something - BT sent us a small Samsung MP3 music player a couple of years ago and guess what? It wouldn't connect to my computer using the official software (Samsung Media Studio). I gave up after getting the MTP Device connection issue over and over.

In the end I got it working on my partners computer.

Here I am again with the Samsung MTP device issue eh.
 
I downloaded the latest version of Kies (version 2.0.0.11014_49 to be exact) on connecting the phone via usb the phone says connected to kies while kies keeps saying "connecting" but does not connect. any suggestions. I have XP SP3. have installed Z4 root andvoodoo5 oneclick on my phone
