Kies 3 and Android 4.3

I have a Galaxy S3 through Bell in Canada. The phone was updated via Kies 2.xx to Android 4.3. When I next ran Kies 2.xx it said it did not support Android 4.3 and to update to Kies 3. I did this and Kies 3 runs quickly, recognizes the phone and gives sync options for MS Outlook. When I try to sync Kies closes as fast as it opens. No warining messages. I have MS Windows 7 Home premium which is up to date. I contacted Samsung and they said I needed to go to Windows support and install Windows 7 Media Feature Pack. This is on their site but is only for use on Windows 7N which is for European versions. Any idea how to fix this issue.?

i am having the identical problem, Dec. 24th Galaxy S3 firmware updated to 4.3, then Kies updated to 3.2. Kies recognizes the phone but when i check the sync boxes Kies closes without notice, no error message, will not open again until the installation is repaired.
