Kies disconnects - windows 7 64bit? my solution

So my phone would never stay connected to kies, i could only sync around 1gb of music and it would drop. Here is my solution.

I have a galaxy s2 on the bell canada network, it was running 2.3.3

I updated my firmware using odin, no root to 2.3.5. And suprise suprise, after updating, i was able to sync my 10gb of music with no disconnects, no driver errors.

hopefully this info helps someone out there. Upgrading via odin is insanly easy, theres many guides around the forums.

Thank you, very helpful indeed! I had given up trying to use Kies on win7-64 and changed to MyPhoneExplorer instead.

My phone just quit the second I start copying music in Kies and refused to reconnect (restarting MTP application repeatedly) until I deleted the files and cache and rebooted the phone. I might try this option instead.
