Help Kies does not support S3?

ExNihil

Lurker
So, Kies does not support S3 GT-19300. True? This does not seem credible but after five hours of fiddling and research it seems to be the case. If this is so, then how can we back up data? I can easily access and explore the two drives on the device via PC so I guess that is OK if you know what the folders really are. Seems amazingly primitive compared with what we have all got used to. My latest version Kies specifically says it does not support my device. Any third party app? The phone is great, the software is nowhere in site behind

Kies does support the S3. Did you root it or install a custom ROM?

Wierd, I had the same issue tonight when I went to install Kies.

I got the wireless version to work through my PC internet browser, but can't get the downloadable program version of Kies to work when my phone is plugged in via USB.

it's a little funny at first. I think you need to open Kies, then when it doesn't detect a phone, plug in your phone. If this doesn't work, click on the help thing Kies has.

Kies Air is the only way I can use it.

Although I think that's more to do with me running the Windows 8 Release Preview (it's still supposed to work but doesn't for me at least as I was messing around with it yesterday for a while to no avail)
