Help Kies has broken my usb connectivity

I installed Kies 2 just now to upgrade the firmware. It seemed to be going fine, when it was finished it then restarted my PC without me confirming, just did it. Now when I plug my phone into usb it just charges, it wont give me any options, isn't connected in kies and wont even let me select mass storage.

Really annoyed, I only installed it so I had the latest firmware to root it.

Cant find anything that describes this problem in search. Can anyone help?


I've run connection trouble shoot a couple of times, which doesn't tell me anything, it just reinstalls some driver apparently then says 'complete'. Brilliant, very informative Samsung

It messed up my comp also (XPSP3) so I had to remove it. At startup the Comp kept throwing up USB HDD not found errors. I removed KIES and all has been fine since

Mine did it once a few weeks since just ask it to connect and one of the options re installs the drivers

Did it and been ok since
The problem is on some computers if your device is pluged into the USB on start up it can screw it up as it trys to boot from it or sees it as a unknown drive
