Help Kies hell...

Yeah, another sucker stuck in Kies hell...

Besides taking up 2G of hard drive space it won't even work!
I want to get in, via Mass storage mode to download a fix for the phone so I can get at Kies, but now I can't even connect to my desktop!

I select Mass storage/USB connected/Mount and even though the drives show up on my desktop, they are inaccessible.

Any tips to get the mounting working and get Kies working?

I read the long thread on Kies but if I can't mount it seems I can't do Kies either.

Just mounted, now let's see if I can follow the instructions to get at Kies...

Well I managed to connect to Kies finally.
Once I get it to do its job it, it will be trashed from my machine as fast as you can say
"Bogus!".

If you just want to access the internal phone memory, activate debugging mode in settings -> Applications -> Development. Connect to PC, drag down notification menu and select connect to PC.
