Kies Mac won't let me update, help please!

I'm running Kies Mac v1.2.0.12012_6 and keep getting a popup that says a new version is available v1.3.0.12023_9 but every time I click update the program shuts, briefly runs KiesUpdate and LUI and then nothing happens. From the forums other users seem to be running the new version but I cannot get it to update. Uninstalling and reinstalling Kies does nothing and I still get the same problem, can anyone help? I'm on the last updated version of OS X Snow Leopard on an Intel Mac.

I'm having the same issue and can't find the version it says it's trying to update through a Google search or on the actual Kies site. I have a Samsung Galaxy Indulge 910 that I can't get my macbook to recognize through usb connection. Arrrrrrrggggggggghhh!!

My S2 is recognised by kies but because it detects there's a new version of kies it blocks checking and updating the firmware. This is so annoying, very few kies features work but this is the one I can't live without.

i've got a galaxys2 and I'm running kies 1.3 on my mac (os lion)..but kies doesn't give any option for me to update to v2.0 and without that, i can't upgrade my phone t0 the new ice cream 4.0!!

any ideas anyone??

Kies 2.0 is the version that is exclusively for windows. The mac version runs on a different version of kies. The highest version for Mac is Kies 1.3. To update to Android 4.0, refer to this post http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-international/523455-ics-csc-you-eligible-update.html to see whether you are eligible. Hope this helps.

I had major problems with Kies under 10.6. In fact I wasn't able to anything with it. After upgrading to 10.7.4/Lion Kies has been working fine, even though I've only taken backups so far with it.
