So my phone (Samsung Galaxy S - one year old) is slower than an amputee turtle, and I decided to upgrade the firmware via Kies.
I installed Kies on my computer running Windows XP. No problem.
I use the USB cable provided from Samsung. I connect the phone, and select Kies mode. Shortly after, on my phone it says I am connected, while I get a Windows pop up that allows me to browse the contents of my phone and SD card.
On Kies, however, it says "Connecting" for a few minutes, before I get a pop up saying Kies can't connect and that I have to disconnect/reconnect the phone. (on my phone's display it still says connected)
I've now reconnected my phone ten times, reinstalled Kies two times, and tried the troubleshooting within Kies. No result.
Does anyone know what I can do? Why isn't Kies working?
I'm getting very frustrated.
