Help kies stuck on downloading firmware upgrade

Hey.
I have an International version of Galaxy S3, which I purchased in the US a while back.
Today i received a message on kies that they finally released a firmware upgrade for my device, and so I started the upgrade process.
The problem is that the "Downloading firmware upgrade components" window seems be be stuck on 0% and doing absolutely nothing (the longest I waited was about 45 mins).
I tried restarting kies and starting it as an administrator.. every time I try, I get the same result.

any ideas?

Kies is terrible but i had same problem and kept giving up.
Try ignoring it and leave it for say 3hours, seriously, the download is pretty fast but the next bit takes forever.
While youre at it... you may aswell factory reset your phone 1st lol seems like everyone has eventualy had to factory reset thier phone at some point for some reason after gettin JB!
Actualy reset it after so itl auto install all your apps.

thanks for the reply dude.
the problem was actually solved by itself.. after several tries i left it alone for a while, and came back about 2 hours later, when the uploaded got downloaded and installed on my phone.
now to figure out what new stuff i have on there -

had it only been possible to do all this OTA instead of using this damn kies thing!!
