Help Kies wont reconize my phone

So I downloaded the latest version of Kies (version 2.0.0.11014_49 to be exact) and plugged my phone into my computers USB port. Kies shows a "Connecting" status in the upper left part of the software then moments later I get a window pop up that says

"This device is not supported by Kies 2.0. Make sure that you device is supported and try again."

How can my Galaxy S not be supported. It's the Showcase from Cellular South. (Same as the Verizon Fascinate I believe)

I am using Kies under Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

I downloaded the latest version of Kies (version 2.0.0.11014_49 to be exact) on connecting the phone via usb the phone says connected to kies while kies keeps saying "connecting" but does not connect. I have XP SP3. have installed Z4 root andvoodoo5 oneclick on my phone. Any suggestions.

You want to check the prerequisites for Kies. It relies on a lot of MS updates to be installed. Go to Windows updates and ensure they are not outstanding. MS .NET is a big install and you likely don't have it as well.
