Help Kies wont start....

Hi all,
I downloaded kies, and when I start it, it gives an error:

No SIM card inserted, Unable to continue communication,

I have a Samsung galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch from Sprint (SPHD-710)
and as far as I know, it has no SIM card and no SIM card slot to insert one

I di use Odin and such to install ICS...could that be the problem?
and if so, will restoring to factory solve this?

Don't use Kies. If you want to sync music, photos, videos, pod casts, etc., download MediaMonkey. It's free and works on multiple devices.

AirDroid is another good one, great interface and it's a full device manager. You should check it out, it's a well polished app.

O.K.
I finaly decided to re-brick and just wait for the official release of ICS.
My new question is....How do you get rid of the splash screen after starting the phone, and bringing it awake??
I did it once before, but for the life of me, can't remember the setting.....
