Help Kik app taking 8.64GB on SD Card?

I was looking through my phone (Galaxy S5) and noticed that Kik showed a total file size of 8.67GB, which is huge. I looked in the app manager, and it shows:

Total - 8.67GB
App - 31.21MB
SD Card App - 0.00B
Data - 1.04MB
SD Card Data - 8.64GB

Cache is shown at 476KB.

What's with all the SD card data and how do I clear that out? This is a newer phone, and I've only used Kik once or twice, so maybe this is leftover on the SD card from my last phone?

It's also weird because I hardly ever use Kik. I only have it because my daughter has an iPod (no phone), so she uses Kik to text me, which isn't too often anyway.

So, how do I free up that space? Can I just tap "Clear Data"? Do I need to uninstall and reinstall Kik? Pull the battery or something?

Dear Lord, please don't have these guys tell me to reset the phone to factory settings. Amen.

Thanks,
Jason

OK, I just tried that. It only cleared the data on the device. The 8.64GB of SD card data didn't change.

Anything else to try?

Thanks anyway man. I did find the setting to turn off auto download of videos and made that change, so thanks for that too.

Anyone else?

I think you should try a file manager app and just delete the file containing all that data if you want rid of it
