KIK messenger. Awesome!

KIK is a messenging app that sends texts in real time. As soon as you press send the text has been received by the recipient! You also get notification when the other person is typing! Very cool app!!!

Too bad it only works to other Kik users and runs all the time in the background (so say goodbye to your battery life). It also automatically sends out notifications to people in your address book that are already on Kik, without offering you a choice to decline. From the reviews, it looks like it is the messaging app of choice for horny teenagers and stalkers looking to score with someone young and naive.

Other than that, it sounds perfect.

Well me and the wife love it for keeping in touch throughout the day. Its simple and very fast. And i havent noticed ANY significant change in battery life. You know what they say about opinions. If you dont like it then move along. ;) Its a great app FOR US.

i used to use have KIK and I removed it mainly because of battery life. It would drain, at the very LEAST, 3-4% per hour at idle. That adds up after a full day of use.

I find that gtalk is still the best when it comes to battery life and general ease of use. Its nice when I can go to work, open the browser and continue our conversation. Then close the browser and continue the convo on the phone again. You can't beat that. It sucks that you can't send pictures but being forced to send MMS isn't terrible.
