KILLER Theme Ideas

What if you could "subscribe" to a theme that would dynamically change based on how that theme is setup. For example, you know how Google's search page has little doodles and characters if it is a holiday or start of a season, etc...?

What if you did the same thing with your themes? I think that would be pretty cool. Dynamic Android Themes... let it be known I am coining that phrase right now. I think I am coining Dynamic Themes too so nanny-nanny-boo-boo

I like that idea, but signing over the keys to your theme could make users nervous. Imagine it... you're in a biz meeting and open your phone to call your superior. Unfortunately, the developer decided to be a jerk and your home screen has nude pictures and your ring is the sound of a woman reaching orgasm.

I guess if there was a "legit" company that did it... it could work. But you'd have to build the trust.

Is Just the ideal place to have an ANDROID Scheme Builder

Upload some photos test it - apply - save - share

would then be easy to progressively download the next image in background -using any of the images you have tagged as phone images

allow a range of schemes to be saved to phone

Since mostly everyone has the ability to make their own site either with a free provider http://sites.google.com or their own hosted environment.
It would be simply perfect if a user could create their own theme web page, with the properly coded template secure web page, etc. that would display on their phone. Since most likely to take advantage of all the features Android has to offer, the user may need an unlimited data-plan, the phone can just display the users web page.

Whatcha think?

Yeah, DaveDB's idea sounds plausible - after all, it is using a Google service. See, the great thing for Google and this entire Android and G1 scene is that, although user's may not notice it explicitly, Google's services are being used almost ever second of the day. As usual, it slowly and steadily builds the world's dependence upon Google. With Dave's idea, without Google your themes and the way your device LOOKS will be dependent upon Google.

Seems you are all talking about a wallpaper type ... something.

In general, a theme is more about the GUI, the icons, and even the wallpaper.
