Ok ive heard my girlfriends phone vibrate in middle of the night....but when i check it, theres never any kind of notification when i look at it......is it a hidden app?

No, it's just trying to put moves on your girlfriend

Seriously, though check what's running in the settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Running area and see if anything there could cause it to vibrate.

Mine chirps. If you are in airplane mode, it would vibrate.

If you think your phone is safe and your privacy guaranteed you're the one with the serious trust issues, Sydney. Never in history have tapping and eavesdropping been more ubiquitous. The US, for instance (but by no means exclusively), have gigantic organisations, like the FBI, NSA, DHS, etc., with just as gigantic budgets, dedicated to tracking private, innocent citizens and criminals 24/7, 365 days a year.
