Kindle app on Android

Hi. I bought a Google Android 4.0 8GB PC Tablet 7" Capacitive Touchscreen and installed a Kindle app. I was was able to download some books from the Kindle store, and they show up OK to read in the Kindle app. I wanted to download and read some MOBI files for Kindle from the Gutenberg project, and for the life of me, can't figure out how to move these files to the Kindle app to make them able to be read. I also have converted the novel I have written to Kindle format and wanted to do test reads on the Android. Any ideas?

Thanks, Morris

Well you could download (if possible) a file explorer and locate the kindle folder. If that doesn't work, ask Amazon?

If successful, and they didn't open, you can always search google for a kindle (.mobi) eBook maker (eg mobipocket eBook maker (don't know if its trusted tho)).

Yes, put the .mobi files in the folder kindle.
If you haven't this folder, create it on the root of storage/SD card with a file manager like ES File Explorer.

The books in the folder kindle are shown in the book shelf of the Kindle app.

But this books won't synced (if you have other phones with Kindle app or Kindle on PC) like the books you've downloaded from Amazon.

If you want that your .mobi books will synced, you have to email them to Amazon, to this email address shown in the app.
Then they will become books in Kindle format, stored in your archive at the Amazon server.
Then you can download them to your phone/tab :)

Edit:
Note, for sending to Amazon and storing converted as Kinde format on the Amazon server, the files could be document formats like doc or pdf format or other eBook formats.
