i just downloaded a free book, but the text is jumbled up. anyone else experience this?
Is anyone else unable to access the Kindle Store from the app? It just opens my browser and tries to load the page, but ends up taking me to Amazon's error page.

Turn on Mobile View on your browser. Is anyone else unable to access the Kindle Store from the app? It just opens my browser and tries to load the page, but ends up taking me to Amazon's error page.
I think I figured out why I wasn't getting the store to load. You have to make sure that the browser is set to show as mobile version. Before I had it set to show the actual websites, not mobile view. rtb35, give this a shot and see if it works for you.

yes, once installed you can just browse the market for free books. I just did it to try it out (have never used a kindle/nook device, so I wanted to try it out). Even with my EVOs huge screen, I'm not sure I could see reading a book on it.Is it true you can download a free book once the app is installed? I do not have a kindle. I am not sure if I could actually read a book on the small screen so I would like to give it a test run with a book...

Yep, there are numerous free books available from Amazon. Create an account with Amazon.com from your PC first because the first time you run the Kindle app it'll want to register your device with your account. Is it true you can download a free book once the app is installed? there isn't one. Just pick a category you like and look at the prices. I picked up some Sherlock Holmes book.I opened the Kindle app and went to the Kindle Store, but don't see a "free" category....

If you are using Cyanogen that is why. There is a fix.. go to this link:

I had the same problem and it fixed it for me.
Try playing around with the view options for font size/color/brightness. These screens obviously aren't meant for long reading sessions, but the view options help a bit.Even with my EVOs huge screen, I'm not sure I could see reading a book on it.
When you go into a category you have the option to sort by Price: Low to High. Or there is a free section on the PC site. You can 'purchase' a free book there and it'll sync to the app.Thanks. I thought they grouped all the free books in one category. I'll poke around.
