Edit 3: Free shipping + no tax in CA. Also there is 3-10% cashback on Bing.

Edit: Thanks for the quick answers, I jumped on this deal right away! This is a pretty hot deal as mak916's link shows prices $24+.

Edit 2: Review of the cards

http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/kingston-16gb-microsdhc-card/

Pros:
Inexpensive compared to other 16gb cards
Relatively fast, especially with smaller files
Kingston quality

Cons:
Large file write speeds are slow

Yeah actually. Cheapest I can find online is about 30-40 bucks. Are you worried about performance or just want the cheapest 16gb card you can get?

That is a good price. Find out how much the shipping is.

Free shipping, no tax for me, Here in CA.

I just want some space, i don't care about class 2 unless it really affects performance. Also there is bing cashback of 3-10%

Wow, free shipping if you choose 7-10 day ground. This almost seems too good to be true.

I've been holding out to see if a 16gb class 6 can drop to about 30-40 before I buy one. For 20 bucks I might just pick one of those up.

I wish I would have seen this earlier. I bought a no named brand off ebay for $18.00. You should get this one. This is a good brand.

Will class 2 be able to work on the Evo? Sorry, i'm not that well educated on phones as i am coming from a old slide phone with T9 texting ;(

The Speed Class Rating is the official unit of speed measurement for SD Cards, defined by the SD Association. It is equal to 8 Mbit/s, and it measures the minimum write speeds based on "the best fragmented state where no memory unit is occupied":[9]
The following are the ratings of some currently available cards:

  • Class 2: 16 Mbit/s (2 MB/s)
  • Class 4: 32 Mbit/s (4 MB/s)
  • Class 6: 48 Mbit/s (6 MB/s)
  • Class 10: 80 Mbit/s (10 MB/s)
Even though the class ratings are defined by a governing body, like

EDIT: Ignore my old post, there seems to be a version without the SD card adaptor for double the price...

Deal still kind of seems too good to be true, but I'm pretty tempted to order.

EDIT: Back to $20 again...

Price JUST went up to $38.95, I would expect your order to be canceled...

Deal did seem too good to be true. I still have one @$20 sitting in my cart but idk if I want to have to deal with trying to order it.

I still see $19.95

Edit: darn haha replied to you after you edited.

I'll wait until someone with an Evo confirms this will work. With all the trouble people are having with the 8 GB class 2 included with the phone, I'm wondering if class 2 is not fully compatible or something.

From another forum: I contacted sprint about this problem tonight, they told me they knew about it already. Sprint said the only phones that have this problem are the ones that google gave to their employees and to the reviewers. It was a software issue, apparently the issue was only with the first 2,000 phones google gave out. With the phones being released on June 4th, the software issue is resolved.

That's the only thing I have read about the problem, hopefully it's true.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm not familiar with Adorama but they seem pretty legit.

I've already ordered. I like the fact they allow you to use Google Checkout. I'll let you know in 7-10 business days how it works out. :p

That's a relief. I think I was reading on XDA-Developers that the version of Android that the I/O Evo's were running was a pre-release version. I was holding out hope that this was the case. It was a pretty serious flaw to go unnoticed by Sprint or HTC.

adorama has been around for a long time and is a very reputable camera store.

one question though, what's the file size like on the videos taken with the EVO, specifically 720p. just wondering if i'll need 16gb or not.

Well I don't know what the size is, but I'm getting ready for the release of Froyo later this year (hopefully). App to sdcard :D:D:D:D

It's only 5Mb/s (.625MB/s), so they don't take up a terrible amount of room (but that means they really don't look that great).

Well I placed an order, now I wish I would have created a password with them as it seems I can't track my order without one.

You can track your order if you dont have an account.

Track Order

don't put the * at the end of your confirmation #. I don't have an account with them. They have order status after you check, but i don't have anything under that. I'll keep you updated if it updates.

So some dude posted saying he called Sprint and the rep told him it's only a problem on the phones Google gave away?

Uh, yeah, I think I'll wait for an official announcement before I believe that. We all know how accurate Sprint reps are when it comes to things like that...

That same PPC Geeks thread also links to this thread:
HTC EVO 4G:HTC Evo 4g about to be launched with a...

That is Sprint's official message board- moderated by Sprint employees with Sprint employees answering questions. Post #6 in that thread, dated May 30, 2010, is by a Sprint employee, and the last line is "Issues with the microSD card are currently being investigated by Sprint and HTC, but it is currently not a known issue."

So I would take that "I called Sprint and they told me..." post with a grain of salt. What Sprint is putting in print on their own website is entirely different.
