Kingston 8GB SDHC card problems in Galaxy Ace

heco

Lurker
I buy to my wife a Galaxy Ace La fleur (GT-S5830i) and come with a 2GB SD card. For more I buy a Kingston 8GB SDHC class4 card and was working the first 3 days, but now every 5 minutes is telling was a error with the card and must be formated.
If restart the phone or put out the card and insert again is working for a 2 hours but after the problem come again. Today start to tell that the internal memory is full and even don't received more SMS, but if I turn to the original 2GB SD card is working perfect and receive the messages without problem (the 8GB card is not full yet! maybe 50%)

The question is if is problem with the card? or are not compatibles? what is the most recomendate solution?

thanks

You have to separate problems mate
1. You need to format your 8gb card, its corrupted. Do it from the phone itself.
2. You have installed too many apps on the phone's internal memory, its now less than 20mb free and must be showing a low space notification. When this happens you cannot install apps and you will not be able to receive messages.
Solution: Free up the internal memory by erase cache, moving apps to sd card or uninstalling some applications.

Note: There are some apps that can't be moved to the sd card.

Hello,

I also have a S5830i, and I've seen the "SD card corrupt/removed unexpectedly"-error alot. This seems to be an error which occurs in android-version 2.3.6 on the Ace. It should be fixed in version 2.3.7, but nobody knows when this will be released to Samsung-customers.
I've asked the Samsung customer-support directly about this problem and they advised me to do a hard reset on the phone. This means downgrading to android 2.2, and means loss of some functionality. They did not answer my question about the update to 2.3.7.
I have purchased a new SD-card today to make sure that it is not the card which is broken. If I don't see the error during the course of the next week I will be a happy man and will report it on this forum.

ayush29k already answered the question about the internal memory.

Alltogether I am content about this phone, it would be excellent without the SD-card problems.

Hi Friend,

I think your kingston SDHC card is corrupt, you can resolve this issue by formatting the card. However formatting the card will lead to data loss, luckily you can recover data from kingston SDHC with the aid of memory card recovery software. This recovery tool effectively recovers data from both corrupted and formatted memory card. To know more and to download visit the below links
