Does CameraMute still work with the the new OS?

(CameraMute - side loaded but not needing root, stops that silly fake shutter noise when you take a picture.)
 
I don't know about CameraMute, but have you tried A Better Camera or Camera FV-5? They both have silent modes. (And are better than the stock app.)

Yes I have that. Though truth to tell, I very rarely actually use the phone camera as phone cameras are universally awful. I always carry a real camera which wifi-talks to the phone. But the idiotic false shutter click offends me anyway unless you need it for haptic reasons and it still should be switchable (which it is on phones from some US networks). It isn't on the international phone.

I don't think either is going to suspend the laws of physics.
