Help kitkat upgrade where are the emojis?

As title states my keyboard doesn't have the kitkat emojis ...help ; (

When your writing a text touch and hold the microphone key that's on the bottom left of the keyboard, a tray will come up with options...just click the smiley face.

thank you so much. For me it ended up being the bottom right arrow key and it giving me the option for the emojis.

Selecting the microphone to get to smileys was already in 4.3.

Is it on the normal txt messages because it dont work
