Help Knock Code option disabled/grayed out

mbressman

Newbie
On my Sprint LG G2, the option to select the screen lock setting of "Knock Code" is disabled/grayed out with the following message:

Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage

(the options to select "None", "Swipe", and "Face Unlock" are also disabled/grayed out)

Any way to figure out what is causing this, and to correct it?

Thanks!

Settings > security > phone administrators.
Make sure you haven't granted Admin access to an app that conflicts with your screen lock. I know I've done that in the past. Once you remove Admin status it should return to normal.

dears

anyone can help me

I have the same problem in LG G4, and nothing of the above solved the problem, I think it happened because I encrypt the data, how can I resolve it since I can not decrypt it.

If you use Android pay, it changes the credentials on your phone and does not allow you to use knock code. It requires that you use a pun or password to protect your credit card info. Hope this helps.

Hello Jasmine!
Well, too bad the OP hasn't been back since June, 2015 to let us know what helped, but perhaps your suggestion will help others :)

Hi, noob here.
I have the same issue on my LG V10.
I installed the app Packet Catcher which requires a certificate which I also installed. While it informed me that I had to switch to pin, I did not know it would eliminate my knock code option.
I quickly realized the issue and deleted the app which did nothing. I then deleted the certificate, again, nothing.
I have scoured the net for an answer to no avail. I tried reinstalling both the app and certificate both separately and together again to try to see if it would release my knock code, again, no luck.
After leaving a rather negative review on google play store, I am here in hopes of a solution.
Thanks.
