Help Knock-On issue after KitKat update (T-Mobile)

Ok, so maybe more of a" Knock-Off" issue
I suppose. Before the KitKat update I was able to double-tap the notification bar while in an app to turn off the screen. I'm no longer able to do that after the update. Anyone else encountered this issue or know of a fix? TIA
 
No problem here.

Able to knock-off in the middle of the screen when using the stock launcher-U/I, otherwise, knock-off using the notification bar area works fine.
