Known apps that cause mobile data issues?

I currently own a HTC One X+, I love the phone. However I was experiencing some horrible data drop out issues for months. Every hour or so i'd loose my data connection, but i'd still be able to send texts and make calls. The '3G' or 'H' symbol would vanish, however i'd still have the signal bars. The only way to resurrect the issue would be to toggle airplane mode on/off or restart the phone.

After researching online, many suggested it was a hardware fault. So, with this in mind I rang up HTC for a repair which they agreed to do. As a last gasp attempt before I sent it off, I did a full hard reset which obviously wiped everything off the phone. This seems to have fixed the issue (its been a full day without a drop-out), which suggests an App or specific setting I had before the reset was causing the problem. Does anyone know of any apps that cause this? Or any particular setting?

Edit: I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section.

usually "battery saving" apps are the culprit.

Thanks for joining our forums; if you'd like i can move this to the HTC one x + forum for you :)

I guessed that, although I didn't have any battery saving apps. I don't suppose cache cleaning apps such as 'Clean Master' would do the same thing would it? I'm wary about re-installing all my apps due to the possibility of one of them causing all the grief!!

cache cleaning apps shouldn't affect your data connection. as you reinstall your apps, pay attention to the "app permissions" and you should find the culprit. The app would need the specific permission to control your cellular radio.

Yeah I guess I'll have to just be careful when installing apps. I just hope it was an app and not an actual fault.
