Help la Victoria. (Pacoa)

So my wife's Samsung Fascinate phone randomly decided to get rid of all of her downloaded photos she got in texts, and then put her photos into reverse order by date, as well as tag the location of that folder of photos as "la Victoria (Pacoa) (Cor. Departamental)... Also added a new folder which photos she takes now go into... Didn't add any new photos or anything... Haven't been able to find anything on the interwebs about it... Anything anyone's heard of before? Pretty perplexing... Possible virus on her phone or something?

And FYI, this was all stuff done to the SD card...

A google search shows that you're not the only one who's had this issue. The consensus is that it's likely an app that was installed with permissions to modify SD card contents and did this.

Personally, I would worry about a virus which has set up specific folders for later access. But that's just my personal paranoia talking. What happens if you rename the photos and redo the correct file structure? Does it go back to "la Victoria (Pacoa)"? If so, I would seriously think of viruses!

Go back over the apps she's installed and check the permissions on each. Check their standing in the Market and delete any that don;t have an excellent community rating. Maybe even back up everything, then reset.

How do I rename the photos and redo the correct file structure? Quite a noob here, and don't want to screw things up with her phone... I took out the SD card and copied it verbatim to my computer. If I reset her phone completely, is that going to be something virus like that will just get reloaded onto her phone? Is there some sort of directions on the forum somewhere that you can point me to that walks me through the process? Greatly appreciated!
