Laaaaaag?

I'm not sure if all of the SGS2s are like this, and I can cope with it. But I've noticed two main areas with Lag on this handset.

1) When pressing either the home button or the lock button to unlock the screen, takes about a second to turn the screen on.

2) When hanging up calls, my screen is still blacked out for about 1 second after I take the phone away from my ear. Which is annoying as I just want to hang up quickly and continue a conversation.

Anyone else experiencing this? Or know how to fix it? I thought this thing was supposed to be fast and very responsive...

Home button lag is due to the voice talk app, the phone waits to see if you press the button twice so it knows to launch voice talk. This can be fixed but only by rooting
The lock screen lag is because the phone is in sleep mode when you press the button, so there is a delay in the wake of the phone. I believe this is worse on different firmware versions (currently mine has less than a second delay).
Not sure about the lag on hanging up a call? There is an option in settings>accessibility so you can use the power button to end calls maybe that would be better?

Yeah I have activated that setting so I can hang up with my power button! What exactly does "rooting" the phone consist of? I'm a complete noob in this area :\ lol

It consists of flashing a custom or insecure kernel with a program on your pc called odin. All you need to do is match up the right kernel for your phone. There is a guide in my signature.
