Lag at blank screen to unlock screen

I press the unlock button and it seams like a good second or so then the screen turns on. Anyone else having this? Or is this just normal?

It's normal. Takes about a second for the the processor to wake from sleep. Im assuming it saves battery to not have instant on.

It's slow because the home button is waiting for you to push it again to use S-Voice.
To disable that

• S-Voice (app)
• Menu
• Settings
• Open via home key (uncheck)

I use to have the same problem until I downloaded Nova Launcher. Now my device wakes up instantly from sleep. It's not a problem with the phones hardware itself I think it's to do with the software. What version of Android are you on? I thought this problem got patched in a recent update?

Installed Nova Launcher. Still lags when I unlock the phone. That did not help.

there is a lot of discussion about this problem and sadly there is no clear solution from what I've read. There are a couple of work arounds though. Have you got pattern lock or any other security lock? Or just swipe to unlock?

Shutting off S-Voice home button option has no effect on lag, still lags with it on or off. They all do it, must be something built in and normal I guess. Sure hope they change it.

Oh I know...I've tried everything. Only a software update can fix this one. Bit at least it's not "some" doing this, they ALL do it so technically there's nothing "broken".
