Help Lag, blue flicker and home button issue

So i've only fotten this phone for nearly a week and i've been noticing some lag, especially with the home screen and the widgets which sometimes appear after 2-3seconds after i press the home button. That's my first issue; my second is after the screen turns off and i press home to wake it up, a flickering blue screen occurs before my home screen comes up. It kind of irritates me that it does that even though its only happened around 3 times, an randomly when i wake it up. The third problem relates to me waking the phone up. When the screen tjrns off (after the 30seconds which i set) and i try wake it with the home button, it does not take me to the page i left off from before the screen went off, instead it goes back to the home screen. I find this weird and was wondering is it normal? Well all of these problems really, am i suppose to be experiencing these problems? Is there a fix?
 
The last one is normal mate. Theres probably ways to change it though.
The first two sound like a problem with the launcher. What launcher are you using? I recommend Nova, its really fast, redraws instantly :thumbup:
 
the home button lag is normal it happens cause of svoice integration in the home button there is way to disable it but dont know it off the top of my head. Regarding the second issue sorry i have never seen or head off an issue like that. Regarding the third issue do u have a lock screen set? I wake the phone up with the home button but it remains on the same screen i had left it on.

Tap the Home button 2 times to get into S-Voice then hit the Menu softkey and then Settings. Remove the check mark for Open via the home key. This will stop the lag when you press the Home button. When the screen blacks out use the Power button to get back not the Home button. Don't know about the Blue flicker.
 
Yeah removing the s-voice shortcut makes the home button react instantly but it doesnt help with the widgets taking ages to redraw. I havent used the stock launcher for more than 10mins tbh but i had the same problem with Go Launcher :thumbup:
With Nova, it really is instant :)
 
Nah mate tbh its hard to visualise lol. If we could actualy see it it would probably be more obvious. see if usin a modern custom launcher app like Apex or Nova makes any difference :thumbup:

After the screen flashes blue it returns to normal. Has anyone else experienced this or know what it may be? I'm worried it is a manufacturer fault and that the screen is going to die soon"

I found another thread on this problem and that's his explanation which is better than mine I guess... if it helps lol

I am not rooted and i have no idea what a custom ROM or kernel is haha.

One more thing is it normal to lag while in normal use e.g. the touch to open an app etc?
 
Cool. I was just thinking if you had it could've been kernel or ROM related. Since you haven't I'll move this over to the main gs3 forum where mute eyes should see it:)
