Lag fix without rooting possible?

Is there a lag fix available for Captivate running stock 2.2 that does not require rooting?

I need to fix lagging on the Captivate but otherwise don't see a benefit to rooting for me and I prefer if keeping it stock in case I need AT&T's service.

no theres no lagfix without rooting. and a lagfix is harder to undo than rooting anyway, and in fact rooting can be completely erased without a trace, im not all to sure whether a lagfix can be or not.
