Lag with launchers?

jasf

Newbie
I'm going to pull the trigger tomorrow and get the S5.

My last concern however, is if the small internal memory results in issues with lag. I fully intend on installing a new launcher, most likely NOVA or Google Now. Has anyone done this and seen more lag? Or memory issues?

I'd like this phone to last hopefully the Verizon/Samsung bloat and smallish internal storage won't become an issue.

2GB of memory is not small for a mobile device, why would you say that?

You need to read ALL of the threads from April 11, 2014 through today.

All of the Launchers have been discussed. KKlauncher is based on Kit.Kat and is one of the most recently released launchers. Nova has a lot of history. I stay away from Google as much as possible. I don't like their intrusiveness.

Bloatware is non-existent on the S5 because the S5 will disable anything you don't want.

2 gB is small? sorry, but I disagree with you. The S5 is a very fast phone.

Want more memory? Plug in a Micro SD card, as big as your wallet can afford.

I think you are confusing ram with storage.

No, I didn't, but the phrasing might have made it look that way.

The internal RAM is fixed at 2 gB, and so far, I have not even begun to diminish what is needed for my apps.

This section might be hidden on some phones, but it

nova doesn't lag.

Usually no it doesn't, but Nova Launcher will also lag if there are issues with the rom.

For example 4.2.2 based roms on the Galaxy S4 have always been laggy, installing Nova Launcher will not fix this, it will lag all the same.

If Touchwiz feels smooth then so will Nova Launcher.
