Laggy home button

You don't speak for me, I love S-voice not perfect but good.

Sorry.. by no means was I calling u a troll.. just saying the title probably threw some people off. But as I stated in my previous post, yeah the slightest of delay does exist when the home button is pressed. Doesn't bother me much as using the phone in all other areas proves the s3 to be a pretty powerful phone. Good to hear u got it working better. Even though Samsung was pushing s-voice, I think we all knew before even buying the phone that it was a POS voice recognition feature.. I think I speak for most people when I say I bought the device knowing I wasn't gonna even use the feature.

But anyways, hope u enjoy the phone!

OP, is your experience solely using the stock launcher (TouchWiz) or with a 3rd Party one as well?

I was quick to blow off the trollish-like title, but after installing Go Launcher (I loathe proprietary launchers), I too have been experiencing bouts of lag, particularly between screens. I'm hoping it's just the launcher and not the actual device :/

Going to install another launcher and see if I can remedy the issue.

I'm no troll. Im a longtime member of HoFo and StangNet (as well as a mod). I disabled S Voice and it definitely helped. As I'd stated, I've already disabled the menu transitions. It's still not instant like an iPhone or EVO, or even my Epic Touch, but it's much better. I can live with it now.

I'm wondering if that lag was out in there to accommodate the transitions also, and they didn't set the lag to disable when transitions are disabled. As I said, it's much better and less noticeable after those fixes so thank you.

As for the title, maybe I should've been specific with the home button, but coming from my other devices, the lag was very very noticeable. I showed several coworkers today, then we compared to the EVO LTE and even the Nexus and they all saw it too. For a flagship device with the highest specs of any Android device, I would expect it to operate at least as well as the EVO LTE. With these fixes, it's pretty close. Sad that you have to disable a main selling point to make it work, though.

The phones still in its infancy, give it a couple months and I'm sure Samsung will address these minor issues. Unlike previous handsets, Samsung has the whole world literally looking at them now.

I planned on installing Go Launcher once I can bring it home, but if you're having even worse lag issues using that, I think I'll wait for an update from Go Launcher.

My experience is solely with the TouchWiz launcher. I wish I could use the stock Android launcher. I haven't found the launcher in the app management settings yet. With my Epic 4G Touch, I could clear data from the Samsung launcher and use the stock Android launcher instead. That could make a difference. I'll have more time to play with it today, so I'll be back to update.
