Help landscape mode

xotoxpv

Lurker
I am trying to use my phone with my armband in landscape mode. But always when I put my hand down, it's back in portrait  . It is killing me, because in portrait mode everything is upside down. Is there any widget or something, that forces my phone to think is always in horizontal position and screen should be in landscape on aplications where it is possible? my phone xperia x10. thanks

Welcome to the forums, xotoxpv.

There is an "auto rotate" menu item in most Android versions, which can be unchecked.

Stop, Prevent Android Screen Rotation In Landscape Mode

There are also apps in market which can override default menu settings. Some are "launchers," which can be configured to customize many aspects of your screens and overall user interface.

Launcher Pro is popular, as is ADW with themes, etc.

Good luck. Have fun!

Hi and welcome to the x 10 forum. You need settings, sound and display then scroll down to orientation.

Hope it helps but if you need more please ask!

i've tried that launchers alredy. they fix my homescreen, but other aplication they just rotate like my phone does. and when I uncheck than setting about auto rotate, it makes default portrait mode for every other aplication except that launcher, which has his own setting

Have you had a look on the Android Market? Just had a quick search on orientation lock and there are a few different apps that may be worth investigating.

Also tried Auto Rotate and that bought up some different ones.

yeah I've tried that too, but almost 95% of aplication do just the same thing like in phone settings where I can enable or disable auto rotation. when I disable it than everything is in portrait mode instead of only landscape aplications like replica island. when it is enabled then every aplication rotate with phone, when aplication can. only aplication that will be useful for me is RotateD, but that one is not working. I must also say taht I've got only donut on my phone.

According to this site, you can't lock it the orientation in Landscape :-(

If it's a certain application you need to be in Landscape, you could always request the developers to set a preference for this.
