Very nice laptop, I love Asus. :thumbsupdroid:

Absolutely that is plenty of space for windows 8.1.

In one of my laptops I have a 128gb ssd and I'm dual booting windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 14.04 and have plenty of space.

I would go with a samsung 840 evo/pro instead though. They have the lowest failure rate in the market since they are completely manufactured in-house by samsung. Samsung makes their own controller and nand and don't outsource any parts.

Also you'll get 500+ on both read and write speeds. With the crucial you only get 150 write speeds. In theory windows should install about 3 times faster on the samsung.

If you go with crucial mx100, here's a cheaper price...

Samsung 840 evo...

I went with the 840 pro for the bigger warranty...

that is good to know @GameTheory they offer the 840 evo in tigerdirect too.ive dealt with tiger and unfortunately they dont have the pro version but the normal 840 evo should be more than adequate.newegg is good and all but tigerdirect offers warrenties whitch the way theyve offered to me before is this.you can run over shit with your own truck and they will repair at no extra charge or replace.tigerdirect has a good warrenty imho ;P but that does sound like itd benefit me better in this already beast of a machine im getting.thank you

i prefer windows 8.1 cause they utilize the ram better and some of the features is useful.i use stardock though for 50 a yr and the price goes down to renew its like windows 7 mixed with windows 8 with all the speed and tweaks.

if you dont have stardock stay away from 8 but the little price per year for freedom custimizations to make life simpilar is worth it.windows 8.1 is actually much bigger by far than 7 so it needs a bigger harddrive but i think it should be adequate enough.thanks for the thought tho slug
