Laptop can't see Samsung Galaxy S20

I have my S20 plugged into my laptop. I logged in thru the lock screen. I have Windows Explorer open and I can't see my Galaxy S20 like I used to in the past.

Why can't my laptop see my S20? I guess there is some setting that should be enabled that I accidentally disabled?

curious as to why you are not using samsung's utility, smart switch?

what windows pc are you on? have you tried different cables? is your drivers up to date on your pc? when you connect the phone to the pc, does your phone ask you what usb connection you want? it should ask you either for charge connection or "MTP" or "transfer files".

Dell XPS laptop running Windows 11. I am using the same cable I have always used. Drives are up to date as far as I can tell. When I connect the cable from the phone to the laptop at first it may not be visible in Windows Explorer if the lock screen is on. After I enter my PIN, then the Samsung S20 becomes visible in Windows Explorer. That's how it has always worked but for some reason, it's not working like that now.
