Laptop pro 500 + Razr =

100 percent pure awesomeness. Really nice guys. ZERO learning curve. Everything is so obvious it takes no brain to make this work. Its like a Apple product with out the evil.

Slick professional looking fit and finish. Nice Mate finish screen. You should see full screen nav!!

4G full screen hd porn = serious win.

So many freaking options its mind blowing but I have yet to find a option or service that is not drop dead simple and flawless to use. Any lingering doubts I had about getting the Razr over the Gnex are long gone.

Now if Verizon could just fix the Broken LTE service I would be in heaven!

I second Lens Pirate's observation.

I have been using the Lapdock 500 with my Razr from my boat. I have been cruising down the East Coast of Florida from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West. I have moved seamlessly in and out of 4G and 3G coverage without a problem. Streaming music and surfing the web. Truly awesome!

I have seen the future of computing and communicating and I love it!

This is sort of tempting; does it come with a battery (like transformer keyboard) or does it have to be plugged in to use it ?

Battery is built in and charges the Razr while plugged in. The USB ports also work with thumbdrives and portable hard drives (if fat32).

I have the Atrix dock, which is the 500's other carrier, smaller cousin (12" display).

You can get the Atrix for at least $150 less than the 500, but the dock on the Atrix lapdock needs modding (takes less than 15 minutes and several links to how).

AVOID the 100 lapdock, since build seems not too good and the display is blurry.

How big is the battery; I could not find the spec on eitehr verizon site or amazon; hum moto site has:
High resolution 1366x768
-
36 Wh flat battery for up to 7 hours of battery life; though the size is not listed. Wonder if it can run the display for 7 hours.
--
The atrix dock has the same resolution but cannot find the battery size in it either. Weird none of the sites want to list the specification; just advertising blurbs.
-
Not sure where you got the atrix lapdock but I'm only seeing it $80 cheaper than the lapdock 500. From verizon the lapdock 500 is $250 (corporate discount knocks off $50) and the atrix lapdock is $176 @ amazon.
-
Curious if the battery is larger in one.

It has it's own battery.

I stopped by verizon on the way home to take a peak at one; all they had was the laptop 100 which didn't really impress me that much (screen was not that hot).

Not sure where the laptop 100 fits with regards to the 500 or atrix llapdock.

A distant second level device to both. The 100 has a blurry and dull display, where the Atrix one has a very sharp an bright display. I almost did not get a lapdock, since figured they would all be blurry and dull like the 100. VZW should have got the excess Atrix stock from Motorola, reworked the docks and sold them instead of the gosh awful 100.

The Atrix dock sold poorly due to a high price and a ridiculous strategy of forcing tether fees on a device that uses the PHONE for EVERYTHING. All the lapdock is doing is tapping into the phone's Webtop resources. It is a dumb terminal.

Thanks to At&t's greedy and stupid strategy, you can get the Atrix lapdock for $150 or less. I got one for $65 delivered and might get another if I find one for a similar price. Most Atrix users are not buying them, since forced to pay $30 more a month for tether fees. Almost seems illegal, since it IS a dumb terminal and the user is paying for the terminal.

I was fortunate to get in on the $50 sale that ATT had on the Atrix Lapdock. I can echo what Rush is saying. The Atrix Lapdock is of much higher quality than either the 100 or 500. The screen is very nice and the build quality is fantastic. If you can find one I would say that anything up to $150 is well worth it. I enjoy using the lapdock so much that I only ever use my laptop for heavy duty programs and I rarely use my tablet anymore. I hope Motorola stays with the lapdock idea and keeps improving it and including updates.
