Don't necessarily blame android. keep in mind both manufacturers and providers like to add their stuff to the os. for instance i have a samsung phone and i really do not like One UI so i use a custom launcher that you can get from the play store called Nova.
what phone do you have? what android os did it update to? what provider do you have?
Actually one way in which they have recently copied iOS is that Android 12 now warns you when an app has accessed your clipboard (which is illuminating: I've uninstalled a couple because they accessed the clipboard when I was doing nothing that would need them to do so. Given that people use it to copy sensitive information an app just deciding for itself to see what's in there is not on).
