Yeah its awesome, everyday is a learning experience.. get different phones so I get to know the insides and the way it all works. Digis and LCDs are the easiest.. soldering can be a B sometimes since some you need to do under the microscope. Everything else is a breeze too.. water damage so easy;) but can't tell

Of course Digitizers and LCDs are the easiest lol. I've worked with lots of LCDs and ribbon cables so that would be easy for me too... Soldering... I can do a decent job and I can make functional stuff, but my soldering skills need work lol. What kind of stuff do you have to solder anyways? Usb/ Micro HDMI ports? Or more than that?

Usually like the #3 connector on the iPhone 3/3GS..people tend to open the phones and don't know there is a latch and just yank the whole thing off

Yeah gotta know what your doing opening them.. the 4 is way different inside but is pretty easy once you get the hang of it..the 4s is a little trickier still similar. Usually work on iPhones all the time, starts getting a little boring

What I don't understand is why is there no warranty seal on the 4 and 4s? They can be opened and have components replaced and there is no way to tell... You would think Apple would want more money and put a warranty seal right under the back, but instead they make it super easy to open...

Yeah I know lol, its dumb...there is 2 stickers on two screws but can easily be removed and put back like nothing happened. Not sure what they were thinking :p

It's weird how Apple is such an uptight company yet they make their iPhones easy to have the warranty voided with out even knowing... Every other phone I know of has some sort of warranty system in it (well actually I think the MT doesn't, but still)

They probably think the majority will just buy another one.. I have friends who spend the full retail every year for the new iphone which is ridiculous

Yea... I mean I kinda buy phones more frequently than a lot of people, but I usually get them for cheaper than retail... and they have been under $600 full retail anyways. I think I have paid $150 for 2 of my phones brand new $300 for my MT brand new and $320 for my MT4GS used like new. All under full retail of the iPhone...

Lol yeah I switch around every 6 to 12 months but never spend a lot $170 OptimusV, $125 Triumph, 2 week used $200 Sensation 4g from friend.. hoping to find a phone that I love and will stay with

yea lol. I love my MT4GS right now, but with more and more better phones coming it gets harder and harder to love it :/ I always want the latest tech lol.

This HTC Evo V 4G will likely be the most expensive phone I'll have bought.

Then I'll be getting the HTC Evo 4G soon after. That'll be a big chunk of change too.

I'm not going to complain. 4G on Boost and Virgin Mobile and I'll be paying the same as I did on 3G? Me gusta.

Nice.... my job is fun. I usually fix 6 phones and 4 ipods (all gens) per day.

Win:p

I'm selling my iPod touch 4g to make up for my coming gnex but its power button doesn't work (gotta push it really hard for it to work) . Will it be worth it fixing it or should I just sell it like that?

Its worth fixing... its your power flex giving out so it needs to be replaced. Take it to a place where they fix phones unless you want to be brave and do it yourself. Just be extremely careful cause everything is soldered and can easily be damaged. It shouldnt run you above $50 for the part and labor if someone does it.

Alright. I wish you could fix it for me lol anyways thanks for the tip. I win now. :D

MBG, How much do you think it would cost to replace the gorilla glass in my MT?
I'm going to perhaps sell it. I was considering keeping it but I don't know yet.
Either way it needs the glass fixed.

I know I'm going to be selling my Marquee here soon.
I didn't attach to it like I usually do with my Androids. n_n

Doing it yourself should be around $25, the problem would be finding the Digitizer for it. I don't think I've seen them around, but a similar phones Digi should work (like from one of its variants)
