I don't think i could get used to all that flatness. The area I live and grew up in is fairly hilly with lots of bush because the steeper land isn't generally built on, and hence quite a bit of wildlife such as this tawny frogmouth I photographed in the back yard one afternoon. They're so well camouflaged if they're in a tree they look just like part of a dead branch.
Wow! Superb pic...
Flat land is as easy to get used to as hills or mountains. I like being able to see the horizon. And the black Icelandic dessert, Nirdic highlands, Finnlands lake area, French lavenderfields, Death Valley or the dry desserts in the USofA.
I'm sure one gets used to just about anything, but we all prefer what we know best generally. I've seen plenty of flat landscape here. You can drive all day in some parts of Australia without even turning your steering wheel.
Don't listen to the horror stories about things that bite, it's quite rare for those things to happen. If you keep your eyes open when walking out in the countryside you won't get into trouble. Snakes are the biggest concern of most travellers but most of them want to get away from you more than you want to get away from them. The only aggressive ones are only that way in late spring, the mating season. If you don't try to catch snakes you won't get bitten. I've only ever been bitten when handling them.
I like snakes
Win steal
But still snakes
I had a python but I couldn't keep it.
Had to give it to the local wildlife center.
Darn, liked him too.
His name was Mr.cuddles
Lulz
Well once again I win
My motto: Stay away from all critters...especially those that slither, lol. I saw a guy with a pit bull yesterday who looked like he was on steroids! The guy was not nearly as buff!!!
