Help Latest firmware?

Hi guys, just wanted to find out what the latest version of firmware you are all running?

I'm currently on 2.3.3 but it hasn't been great for me ever since it was installed. I didn't choose to have it, it came installed on the phone after Samsung had it back after a major crash.

I would like to update it but since coming back from repair Kies will not let me update and keeps telling me "this version cannot be updated" whereas before I could and update at any point

Anyone got any advice or tips for me?

You can flash new firmware via odin.. thats downloading files & upgarding formware manually through odin..

I think 2.3.4 is the only UK version you can flash to using Kies..2.3.5 is available but can only be flashed using Odin..All depends what firmware the carrier has tested and confirmed stable for release.
You might also have to run a new version of Kies to see the update...worth a try anyway.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the advice, just found a nice guide and download on how to flash new firmware to my phone via Odin and gave it a go.

I now have 2.3.5 installed and it seems to have made the phone a lot smoother. I'm hoping battery life will also be improved too

May I ask which country you are in and what version you upgraded from?
I'm in the UK with the latest version of Kies (2.1.0.11112_41) saying the firmware is currently JVO and that "This is the latest firmware".

One of the comments here ("Samsung Galaxy S gets Android 2.3.5 update in the UK") says "But still no update for JV0 version...".
Anyone know why?
