Help Latest Google search/now update made battery drain worse?

I got this update last night and noticed that my RHD battery is draining a little faster on stand by. Still not bad, but did anyone notice this?
 
The update turned my location history back on, which is a big battery drain.

Go into Google Maps > location settings, and turn off location history.
 
I had all location report/sharing/history settings in google map/now turned off before and this didn't change with update.

But I noticed that update brought some new options under google search setting, "web history" and "personal searches". Both is enabled by default. I also noticed that my gmail account got sync error shortly after update. I just disabled the "personal searches" in google search and now gmail sync error went away, battery drain is back to normal. Not sure what caused it really.

Thanks for the tip....I disabled web history and personal searches after seeing your post.
