Apps Launcher stopped !?!

I was debugging JSON spurious characters when A/S ver2.1.1 Launcher stopped. Rebooted, still same error. couldn't get it working again

ADDENDUM:
I was trying to encode inputs and outputs in UTF-8 (both in server-side php-script and in A/S2.1.1) and capturing JSONException errors with Log.e when the launcher stopped and has stopped launching since then.

Try undoing what you was trying to do and restart your phone. If that doesn't work because you have corrupted Android services you may have to do a factory reset to get the device back up and running again

Thanks, I'll download and install the latest Android update on my phone first, see whether that fixes the problem before flashing it.
